As a self-proclaimed non-fantasy reader, I didn’t expect to be completely swept away by the ACOTAR series, but here I am, devouring A Court of Wings and Ruin after getting hooked by the first two books. This one was action-packed, emotional, and just as addictive as its predecessors. If you loved the first two, you need this third installment in your life.

Book Synopsis
A Court of Wings and Ruin picks up after the harrowing conclusion of A Court of Mist and Fury, with Feyre returning to the Spring Court under the guise of reconciliation. Having endured heartbreak and betrayal, she now embarks on a perilous journey to gather information on Tamlin’s alliances with the King of Hybern. As a spy for the Night Court, Feyre walks a razor-thin line between loyalty and deception, seeking justice for those she loves while keeping her true motives hidden.
As Prythian teeters on the brink of war, Feyre must confront enemies old and new, forging unexpected alliances with High Fae, mortals, and even those she once feared. The land’s survival rests on the unification of the fractured courts, but with distrust running deep and the King of Hybern’s forces growing stronger, the odds are stacked against them.
Amidst the chaos, Feyre’s relationship with Rhysand reaches new heights as they navigate both their personal struggles and the political demands of leadership. Rhysand’s unwavering support and the deep bond between them add layers of emotional intensity to the story. Together, they face impossible choices, devastating losses, and moments of triumph as they fight for Prythian’s future.
But as the battle for Prythian’s survival rages on, Feyre realizes that true victory will require more than just brute strength. It will take sacrifice, cunning, and a deeper understanding of the ancient powers that have shaped their world. With everything she holds dear hanging in the balance, Feyre must decide who she can trust—and what she’s willing to risk for peace.
In A Court of Wings and Ruin, Sarah J. Maas masterfully weaves together themes of love, power, and loyalty against the backdrop of a world on the edge of destruction. This heart-pounding installment is filled with gripping action, intricate politics, and emotional depth, making it an unforgettable continuation of Feyre’s journey.
My review of A Court of Wings and Ruin
If A Court of Thorns and Roses was a pleasant surprise, and A Court of Mist and Fury was an obsession, then A Court of Wings and Ruin is a heart-pounding, emotional rollercoaster that left me utterly satisfied yet yearning for more. Sarah Maas has done it again with an incredible blend of romance, action, and emotional depth.
Feyre’s evolution into a fierce and determined leader really stood out in this book. Her determination to protect her loved ones, combined with her tactical brilliance, makes her one of my all-time favorite characters. And Rhysand? My ultimate book boyfriend continues to live up to all my expectations. The chemistry between them is still off the charts, but what I love most is how their relationship is built on mutual respect and unwavering support. It’s not just about romance; it’s about partnership and empowerment.
The spice level is dialed up, but Maas perfectly balances the romance with the intense action sequences, creating a well-rounded, gripping narrative. I found myself sobbing through some of the emotional moments, especially toward the end. And just like the previous books, the stakes are higher than ever, making it impossible to put down.
Once again, I listened to the GraphicAudio version of A Court of Wings and Ruin, and it was a phenomenal experience. The sound effects, music, and full cast really brought the characters and battles to life. I can’t recommend the A Court of Wings and Ruin audiobook enough!
